 About Sol Haven Farms Minimize

Sol Haven Farms is a small arabian horse farm located near Martinsville Indiana. Sol Haven Farms Takes it name from "sol", Spanish for sun and the English word "Haven" or a place of safety or refuge. It refers to the safety and warmth of home. Sol Haven was founded by Daniel and Laura Elliott who live on the farm with their three children Sarah, Jessica and Aaron.

At Sol Haven our goal is to breed, raise and train the best quality arabians and half arabians we possibly can. We strive to breed a modern, intelligent, athletic and conformationally correct arabian that still leaves the undeniable arabian stamp or type that has been prized since the breed traveled the desert with the Beduin.

To accomplish this we first began with the proven bloodlines of champions Like *Bask, *Serafix, *An Malik, and El Shaklan. We then began looking for horses that have superior conformation and movement. Our continuous goal is to breed and train the best arabian athletes we possibly can. As part of that goal we put a lot of emphasis on an intelligent horse with a good, trainable temperment. We realize a horse may have many homes and many jobs during it's lifetime and so for the good of the horse as well as the enjoyment of all owners it's paramount they have a sound mind.

To furthur that goal all of our horses are given large turnouts. Plenty of socialization, even our stallions get to run with other horses. Laura begins their early developmental training by starting them out with imprint training. For the next few years they get to run and play with other horses. They're given occassional ground work to help them with manners but for the most part they're encouraged to grow and to "just be a horse". Then Daniel starts them under saddle.

At this time our operation is small. We want to make sure every horse that comes through our farm leaves here ready for whatever endeavor suites them and thier owners best.
